I was privileged to work in the disaster area of Japan with a Christian organization called Be One. I was also representing Japan Mission.

To be in a disaster area is a life-changing experience. The problems and challenges seemed overwhelming! But the individual people that we helped were touched and very grateful. It was a powerful way to share Jesus' love. I personally saw the normally stoical Japanese show emotion as they thanked us for what we were doing. I was very thankful for the people God helped me to connect with personally and express concern for.

I'm sure that many spiritual lessons can be learned, but perhaps the most powerful is the most obvious. Let's not live our lives for things that pass away. Let's seek our creator. He said if you seek you will find. We can find meaning and purpose in Him.
